Boy, South Carolina is not on the rise. They have peaked and you will never sniff a National Championship at such a horrible institution. You've always been losers and will continue to be

ESPN? The SEC? It's a secret ballot only open to Gamecock Club members? Any current member of the state legislature who played for USC(graduation from that'so-called" institution of higher learning is not a requirement). Former USC( no not that USC)Heisman Trophy winners. Coaches currently in the SEC who won National Championships at other SEC schools(that leaves out Urban Meyer thus giving us the old ball coach as the only coach allowed to cast a vote) Parents of these kids who state that they have allways wanted to play for USC(no not that USC)ever since they were a little kid. This also applies to the Head Coaches of the high schools the kids attend.
Did I leave anybody out?

I can understand his decision. What kid who thinks he is good wants to carry Sammys' jock around for three years? No way he plays in front of number 2. Good luck kid. See you in the Belk Bowl./

I think it is awful that good talent gets wasted at usuc. Parent, coaches, and friends tell these guys how on the rise usuc is. Fact is, they have been on the rise since they becaame a collegiate competitor in sports. As long as they feel their rise to the top ends when they have beat their in state rival. Clemson on the other side believes that winning Conference and National Championships is where the bar is set. Coots way of thinking goes like this. If Clemson wins the ACC Championship. The coots feel they are the real ACC champions without a trophy. Just like when they beat Bama. They were the National Champions because they beat Bama. So, I guess when the coots and their fans see it like that. They are not just on the rise. They have rose to the top through their opponents wins. They will never have a losing season by the way they turn it to favor them in any out come....

Did a Google search and could not find out who did the actual voting but the Mr.Football award is sponsored by the South Carolina Automobile Dealers Association.
Guess where I'm not going to buy my next new car?

Good call..considering he is in the ACC..come on, grow up. You have to admit they are better because of the talent. I dont know if they are going to win a NC but from here on this rivalry is going to be tight, face it. We are no better than they are, the last 3 years have proven that..

Getting the states Mr Football doesn't mean SC recruits better in state.

The overall class will determine that. Now, any coot who thinks being in The SEC is NOT the reason they get elite talent is an absolute fool.

Who votes?

Gonna just take a guess here, but I would say it's the media which is dominated by graduates of the coot journalism school.

Q. Davis. He was the most dominant player in the state this year.

All the rankings have him ranked as the best player in the state. The same rankings that most people on this board live by. Having watched him and Q. Davis i will say they both are great players but talent like Rolands doesn't come along every year. As far as not wanting to sit behind #2, most college teams play more than one reciever.

Since Alshon is leaving, I imagine his father will be seeking employment since their athletic department will have to room for the relatives of future recruits

Sad that he set his sights so low at such an early age. I wish him the best, though. Not everybody can be a Tiger. It is his loss.
