To those that don't listen, it's a radio show on the espn channel here in Florence/beach area.


If that report is true, looks to me that the sack was forced out like I have thought since last night.

Also, one of the announcers pointed out that Maryland and the other usc is also looking for head coaches. He didn't come right out and say it, but that also may have sped up the process of getting Spurrier out.



To those of you that believe Spurrier woke up yesterday morning and decide to "help sc" by giving them a head start on a coaching search, I've got ocean front property for sale.....dirt cheap...

That's my thought - that with Maryland and now So. Cal., the powers at be decided they needed to be proactive. This were ramping up nationwide with coaching decisions and SC didn't want to get left in the dust. Not that it will happen, but if (their dream hire) Chip Kelly ended up taking the Maryland job and 2 days later Spurrier announced his retirement, they'd burn and loot Columbia.

Kind of makes cents. The way things have been going the last six months or so Ray had to do something. It was obviously going over the cliff down there.
