Our weight room vs. "theirs"
May 17, 2012, 9:44 PM

Can anyone provide me with information on our West Zone football weight room compared to the coots football weight room? I have googled but I can't find really any good comparisons. I have an acquaintance that is talking crap about Clemson's weight room and strength and conditioning saying our facilities remind him of one's from his high school. From my knowledge, I thought ours was better than theirs. Any input would be great.

I guess size, amount of equipment, etc. I see that both ours and theirs were overhauled in 2009 but wanted more firepower before I addressed him. I like to have buckets of ammo to unload on one of them before I start the attack

I don't blame you. With them, if it isn't a complete over kill, they don't understand....

Go to Virtual 360 tours and click on the football weight room. It was just built 3 years ago. Your friend has no idea what they're talking about.

Plus, I'll bet they have those silly looking chickens all over their locker room. Man, that's reason enough to like ours better.

im not trying to cause an argument just because its Carolina

im not trying to start an argument at all actually, but my opinion, I would think comparing weight rooms should focus more on equipment than size of the room, I mean, if i went and bought a 35,000 square foot warehouse and put one weight bench inside, does that make it the same level as Carolina's weight room?
i dont know what equipment Carolina uses or the square feet of Clemsons

I've seen South Carolina's weight room being a USC fan. It's new- it's huge- and it's full of what looks like really nice and new equipment.
I am sure Clemson's is very similiar.
Fans that believe that either school is stuck in the past and doesn't' have extremely nice equipment and weight rooms, etc- are full of crap.
South Carolina spent 80 million dollars (20 million more than Clemson last year) on athletics. I'm not downing Clemson at all. But if there is a Clemson fan out there that doesn't believe that our weight rooms, etc aren't some of the best in the country- they aren't serious.

I've never seen the coot weight room. In fact, I've never seen anything the coots have. I just saw ours, and I couldn't imagine the coots having anything better than our weight room. It could be as good, but I would bet its not better in any way shape or form. To be honest, I've never seen a weight room anything close to what ours looks like. I have been to a lot of pay GYMS, but nothing that awesome from Golds or any where else. Our GYM is freaking unthinkable awesome. If you can't stack, pack, or add on muscle in there. Its only b/c you don't want to....

walked through other major college weight rooms- then you can't compare anything.
I've never done it either other than looking at pictures.
I think it's reasonable to assume they are very similiar considering both schools have new weight rooms.
It's silly for someone to suggest one is much better or worse or whatever.

Ours is state of the art. Will post pics later.
It was nice of the coot to try to give us an excuse as to why we sometimes get pushed around later in the season lately, but maybe it's player attitude. We don't have an army of Phillip Prices. Hopefully, that's turning a corner.
I think with two westerners coaching both sides of the ball, we're going to start getting big, mean, corn-fed, homegrown 2-star and "no star" linemen who will get it done like they do out west.
