is his hate for purple in the uniforms. That's one thing I miss about the Tommy Bowden days

dont think he hates purple at all. he wears purple shirts a lot and my favorite hat he wears, which i can find nowhere, is mostly white. just think he is a traditionalist. our main colors are orange and white.

actually our colors areOrange and Purple. For years our white and Orange jerseys had purple numbers

one of the most, if not THE most, unique color combos in the nation. Don't even get me on the orange and navy crowd that is only about twenty other schools in the country. I wish we would drown people in O and P.....this isn't about what looks good with your khakis, this is about Clemson's true colors.....ones that virtually NO other school has in the nation. The white pants should at least have a purple stripe down the middle of the two orange ones. The funny thing with the "traditionalists" fail to understand is that when you talk to most older Tiger alums and fans from pre '70's, they all love the Purple. My Uncle, class of '54, used to say that Clemson colors were Purple and Orange. He LOVED the Orange hats, Purple jerseys, Orange pants we wore with Bowden. He hated the Navy and all of the White with no Purple. I will never get why so many Clemson folks do not want to celebrate yet another unique thing about Clemson. I have talked to tons of folks around the nation and they virtually all love the Paw, our entrance and the loud O and P. It is part of Clemson's brand and Purple will never cancel out Orange.

To O and P after being Blue and Silver for years. I am with you on this and I am 47, and go back to the late '70's as a Tiger fan. It baffles me. Do not discount the fact that some look at Purple as a feminine color too, as absurd as that sounds.....as if manhood is defined by colors or something. Clemson has the Hill, Howard's Rock, the Paw, DV, and O and P, yet so many want to be plain O and W or Navy, like a ton of others. I will never get that.

I just can't get to excited over the fact that our football coach is not into the color of unis the team wears on Saturday! Surely there are other things that are more important. Isn't there
He seems to do a real good job of putting the right kids in those unis.?

participate in any purple out. It seems that the purple used for apparel, not uniforms, is really inconsistent. Even more inconsistent than the orange can be.

I think he said a few years back that worrying about what colors you will wear on a certain game equals unnecessary distractions for the players. I totally agree with him. Our players should worry about one thing and that's getting the WIN not what they will or will not wear.

I do like to see some purple thrown in there. I like variety. But, when the game starts, as long as that beautiful PAW is on the helmet and we are winning, I don't care what we look like.
