OU smack talk psychoanalysis

I'm starting to think OU players aware trying to convince themselves that they can win this game. They were there last year. They know what kind of talent they got thumped by. Behind all this talk is fear of failure.

If we come out early and get up a score or two I think they go into "not again" mode and shut down.

I'm starting to think they are fully aware it will work up the Clemson players and they are hoping it will cause us to "try too hard" or add unnecessary pressure.

This is the only thing I can think of why they would be saying such ridiculous things.

They are trying to create off the field drama that can then be carried forward as on the filed drama. Our guys need only say one world that will totally put them in the "place".......Texas. That is all.

Like Cortez burning his ships, they are trying to raise the stakes so high they have to tap into everything they have to win by forcing themselves into a do or die situation. The problem for them is if it takes that to get them movitated a d fired up, I question if artificially manufactured emotion really ever carries you very far in a game.
