I'm sure this has been discussed, but I was looking for recommendations for New Year's Eve Night dinner. Looking forward to the trip and seeing all of our tiger family in full force.

Not sure on dinner but been told that cafe beignet is the place for those little fellers.

THought I'd share this. We stayed in the garden district. There are walking tours where you can see the Mannings and Ann Rice's houses among other beautiful old home. Also the street car ride out to Tulane reveals some beautiful old homes. As I've said b 4 D-Day Museum is great. Finally in the Garden District there are a couple 24 hour bar/ laundromats in case you have "dirty clothes" to deal with

go online and look, i can tell you very slim pickings on restuarants, most are booked until january 2 for dinner, new years eve is very hard to find, i had to book reservations to one that is basically like the rio's in columbia sc, a brazilian style steakhouse cause everyone i checked was booked solid.

You can't go wrong with any restaraunt in the downtown area. You will have to get in where you fit in on NYE night, those places are going to be super slammed. But as someone said, dessert at Cafe du Monde is a must.

to eat a sandwich in the restaurant that originated it, or. Pat's for Philly cheese steak (Just to cover my bases I also went to Geno's).
There id's a place in the French quarter called Central grocery where the muffaletta started. I'm going there for lunch Sunday.
Also, there was a great Greek restaurant a couple of blocks eat of the quarter.
