I'm not sure how the basketball only schools leaving the Big East means it is dead. It is probably better not having a conference with 30 teams or whatever it was.

Saying that, i was never sure why boise, sdsu, and smu joined the Big East in the first place.

on equal footing. Its far from dead, its just going to be the new Conference USA. The NCAA has already offered the BE and the 7 catholic schools departing seperate auto tourney bids. Where are people getting this BE is gone idea ? Dumb.
