His stats aren't eye popping. I'm sure there is a GGGG Grandson of George Washington out there somewhere.

That deserves a TD for you. But it is funny anyway.

Not sure if there will be room on the roster for a 2019 QB
2016 Cooper/Israel 2017 Johnson/Brice 2018 Lawrence
That is 4 or 5 guys who could start right there.

Always room for a better QB.
cooper/isreal will either be gone or transferred, or another position by the time 2019 rolls around. let's face it, we really don't want or need a QB that's here more than 3 years. Not anymore.

It would have worked out better for us if Lawrence was a 2019 recruit. Johnson is a for sure 2-3 year starter but with Lawrence coming in...if he is as good as advertised Johnson/Brice may sit their Junior and senior year

2019 is a long ways away. So much could

happen between now and then. This guy could grow even more and develop more as well. Tucker would be a RS Senior if he stayed that long. Not to mention other QBs that might also transfer or get hurt. I think Dabo is determined not to have another situation where we are stuck with basically 2 QBs on scholarship like when Kelly left

Yep. Goes all the way back to having to back off of recruiting Tim Tebow. Dabo's experiences have turned him into a serious QB hoarder. In a good way.

yet another reason for my mancrush on dabo
Mar 8, 2017, 10:47 AM
|
|
dabo is not only recruiting well against the big boys - he's doing it with the dignity and class and, dare i say it? - WISDOM.
he has built our brand to the point that we do not offer young men we don't know and want to be part of the family..you camp here, visit, establish a relationship and we might offer on the visit..an amazing program tranformation.
i'm a cantankerous old cynic who does not generally buy into the obligatory "culture changing" mantra that every coach hired into an underachieving program must espouse..but dabo did exactly that..and he did it not by high-handed wheeling and dealing, dissing tommy bowden or complaining about the situation he inherited; he did it with hard work and by insisting that his vision for the program - which starts with building better young men, all around - never wavered..he treats every young man with respect, discretion and a genuine familial love; ensuring that every loving momma or grandmomma who meets dabo would love their sons and grandsons to play for that man.
it is a fine time to be a tiger!

Chad Kelly could move the ball, but he was not good for the program.
