Seeing all these Texas A&M and Notre Dame improvement plans, I got to wondering what the largest crowd a Clemson football team has ever played in front of, home/away/bowl/etc.

we played years ago at the LA Colesium versus So Cal but I dont know the game drew that many back then. Just making an off the wall guess

We have not play many games against teams with large stadiums since most stadiums have been renovated to be so large.

Had to be the first Bowden Bowl...they had to lie about the attendence so the fire marshall would not get involved...the crowd was underestimated...

I think the attendance was just north or 87,000 for that game.

I know that game isn't listed as the most attended game, but I think they fudged the numbers for fire chief purposes. That was when they still had the grassy areas in the west end zone and on both sides it was packed. I say there was at least 90,000 fans that game

little misleading. (seats smaller/closer together). we played in 2 bowl games that year (and that was when jan 1 bowl games were bcs equivalent-like)
