Most Important Players for 2015

This list is comprised of the players that will decide what kind of season we have. It is obvious we are in the boring part of the year.
Offense: Deshaun Watson, Isaiah Battle, Ryan Norton, Artavis Scott, Mike Williams, Wayne Gallman, Jordan Leggett
Obviously we ebb and flow with Deshaun Watson. LT is always vital. C is crucial because of the snap and communication among the OL. Next, Scott comes in because of the primary importance of the 2 man stretching the field vertically and horizontally. There are more skills demanded of this position than for the 9 position. That brings us to the 9 position occupied by Williams. 3rd down, man-to-man beaters, Redzone and Deep threat. This position is critical to complimenting every other aspect of the gameplan. Wayne comes in here because we have proven time and again that we can win without a crushing running game. However, I believe that if Gallman can be consistent all year long, it will make us virtually unstoppable. Also the abilities of Watson in the read game make Gallman better. In a one back offense Gallman would be less effective. Leggett makes this list because he can be the difference maker in the run game as well as the pass game. He is the final piece to making this a complete offense.
Defense: Mack Alexander, Shaq Lawson, DJ Reader, Jayron Kearse, Boulware/Goodson
This is a little tougher to list but we start with Alexander because he can literally shutdown a game changing receiver or a 1/3 to a 1/2 of the field. This can severely limit a gameplay making everyone else's jobs a lot easier. Lawson can similarly take over and limit the gameplan. He is one of the more well-rounded DEs we have had since probably Daquan and maybe Gaines Adams before that. He can be an elite pass rusher but also sets the edge well and pursues well. He lives in the backfield on both the run and the pass. DJ Reader can literally shut down the A gap running game when he plays to his potential. He may not have the exact strength or explosion of Grady but moves very well and ways roughly 50lbs more. Next is Kearse solely because of his athleticism and versatility. BV can use him anywhere and he covers so much ground so quickly, he doesn't give up his assignment by alignment. He is a master of disguise, a ball hawk, big hitter, fast off the edge and if he makes the same amount of improvement that he did after his 1st year he could be looking at leaving early. Lastly the linebackers... this is a two-headed beast and they cannot be separated. Both can effectively play the Mike and Will roles.Their ability to recognize plays, make the right calls, fill gaps, and make big plays will probably be the deciding facto in whether this unit is Top 25 or not. The previous players will make us good and without them we would certainly be short of that goal but similar to Leggett, they are the final piece. One cold argue that they are higher but I think we have more depth at the position and they are more easily replaceable than Alexander, Lawson, Reader, or Kearse.

I should have also added the TBD punter this year. Anyone else y'all think should be added?

touchbacks consistently. We need a kicker to step up who can. Field position is huge and this is a big element of it. Pinion was money on KO's.

Definitely think kicking is underrated. Also longsnapper is going to be highly important with Sobeski graduated. Also just a heads up keep an ear out for Richard Yeargin III. I've talked to multiple people close to the program that says the kid jumps out in practice as a stud. Expect to hear his name called this year.

You may be right but Jay has an uphill battle against a hungry RS senior who didn't step away from the program for a semester. I hope that Jay does start in the long run because he is better. Norton can help out at guard and center. However, right now I stand by saying he is important because if we played today he would step out on the field at Center.
