anyone that takes a team that lost their best player do to injury, had only one player make any of the 3 conference teams, was picked 13th , I believe, in the league . . has done a helluva job overall and should have garnered serious thought for coach of the year in the conference. Ive got to giggle at the Virginia coach winning it. I mean did everyone not think they would be at the top?

They didn't even start the year ranked if I remember correctly. Preseason, I think they were picked to finish 6th in the conference?
Brad did a great job this year, there's no disputing that. But there's nothing wrong with Tony Bennett getting it.

They've been near the top of the league for several years now. The point being, winning the regular season was not as much of a leap for VA as Clemson being tied for 3rd.

has done a great job. But competing with Tony for this is just too much. UVA had 1 conference loss.. and won the league by 4 games.

I agree. It's hard to argue with that pick.***

First two reasons: 1. Duke (57) - 1020 2. North Carolina (7) - 921

Coot mentality.
Exceeding poor expectations shouldn’t be rewarded, rather you should wonder why the expectations were low in the first place.
That said I think Brownell did do a great job this year but definitely not CoY worthy.

Exceeding poor expectations shouldn't be rewarded? Isn't that what happened with Tony Bennett getting the nod as COY? Doesn't make any sense at all. When should you be rewarded then? For under performing? Just stick to watching football and keep quiet
