The smartest thing he ever said is that USuC couldn't win an SEC if they tried for 400 years, but he is really struggling right now...

I've always been a fan of his and think it is kind of on him to decide when he is ready to retire. That being said, he really hasn't been the same since he had that stroke. Language and stat retention just don't seem to come particularly natural to him anymore. Herbie and the others carry him now.

thoughts on-air. They did that really nice tribute with the video of him coaching that made him cry on one of the last couple of Gamedays. Gotta be a swan-song type deal. I imagine he doesn't want a big fuss made over it and just wants to finish the season.
