what almost was (with the playoff)

Jan 2, 2015, 8:58 AM

First of all in want to point out that, under the old poll/bcs system, we would have had an Alabama - FSU national championship game.

I also want to point out that TCU should be in and yesterday's games proved that. Well, who shouldn't have made it? FSU of course.....and the committee knew it. They dropped fsu in their seedings but couldn't pull the trigger on dropping them completely out.

It has nothing to do with the ACC. It has everything to do with HOW the team plays throughout their season. FSU was sloppy. And they were sloppy on multiple occasions. They downright got lucky to beat CU and ND and had to come from down 24 to NCST! Louisville had a shot. So did 6 win Okie St. Anyone can have a bad day, but 5 or 6?! The committee simply dropped the ball where fsu is concerned. I know people would have cried foul if the undefeated defending NC had not made the playoff, but if you watched their games, it was quite obvious that they were not an elite team this year and definitely not top 4 this season. And that was what they committee was charged with picking.

Here's to them listening to their gut next year and making the right call.

I am sorry, but you can't leave the undefeated defending national champs out of the 4 team playoff, no matter how they played yesterday. I find Jameis, and FSU as a whole, disgusting and unworthy of playing for the title, but they won all their games in the regular season and won their conference championship game. It is still my contention that Ohio State should not have gotten in as their 1 loss (to a horrible Va Tech team at home) was the worst loss among the 1 loss teams.

Ohio St may very well be the best team in the country and that's with their 3rd string qb.....don't just go off of records. Watch the teams play. FSU was the worst team in the final 4 and that isn't based off of 1 game- that Is based on how they played this year.

Just another reason we need 8 teams in the play-off

You don't leave out one conference, and you don't leave out an undefeated defending champion. Both of thsee issued solved with an eight team playoff.

Here is the thing, 8 team playoff is just too much. A 6 team is all you need the 5 pwr conference and one for the Boise states of the world. But to do that takes a ton of money away from polls, committees, and the rest of it all, if it simply came down to that then ask this conf affiliation worked be out the window(money) the poll shows useless(money) so I just don't see them making it that simple
