Vic said he's been runnng 4.6-4.7/40 in practice

Is he sandbagging for another combine surprise, has he gotten slower with the added weight, or is that what he's always been?

That's probably around what he's always been. The big boys don't need to run a fast 40. The scouts care about their 10-20 yard speeds, cone drills & broad jumps more. I'd expect to see him have a great 10 yard mark when he runs the 40.

Isn't that pretty solid for a DE?

Feb 20, 2015, 11:53 AM

I think I read where avg is 4.77

I know Clowney ran a freakish 4.47, but not sure why anyone cares how fast a DE can run 40 yds.

Seems like other stuff is a lot more important.

In Clowney's case the 40 time was crucial becuase they had to assess that when the back blew by him could he possibly catch him from behind

It sounds really fast for a guy 250 lbs.***

Von Miller, who Vic is consistently compared to, ran a 4.53 at the same height and weight.
