Nov 28, 2014, 1:04 PM

Will the SEC be left out the playoff?I know Bama will prolly kill Allbarn but you never know. I think ole Miss beats ST tho

They will find a way to put a SEC team in the playoff. If the two loss winner of the West (not sure who it would be) beat the powerhouse team coming out of the East in the championship, Missouri, then they will get it over OSU probably. I wouldn't bet against the SEC Hype Machine

After losing to vt, osu shouldn't be in discussion

Re: If Bama and Miss st both lose their rivalry games

I disagree. Their true freshman QB was playing against one of the top 5 secondaries in the country in his second game ever. Couple that with the fact that VT played out of their minds that night and I think that one loss that early in the season shouldn't hurt them too much. Couple that with the fact that winning @Michigan St and @Minnesota are both good wins and I think they have at least as much of an argument as Mississippi St does. Especially if they get Wisconsin and handle them in the B1G championship game.

If no sec team, asterisk will be next to winner of playoff***

Miss St loses, they are dunzo.

Nov 28, 2014, 1:26 PM

Bama on the other hand loses, they are still in the SECCG and in my mind unless Auburn just annhilates Bama, the Tide would drop no worse than 5 or 6 putting them in perfect striking distance with a win over Mizzou and especially a win over a higher ranked UGA. A beatdown of the Dawgs could be enough to overcome a nailbiter to Auburn.

as long as Ohio State. TCU and Baylor don't lose

Nov 28, 2014, 1:27 PM

then yes the SEC will be shutout

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I will see it when I believe it, TIP,

Nov 28, 2014, 1:32 PM

and that is considering everything happens to set up that debate for the committee. I would love to hear their thoughts and ESPN would be a hoot!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree with you. There will be a ton of pressure

Nov 28, 2014, 1:42 PM

I think how it could happen is if TCU and Baylor both finish 11-1 but Georgia kills GT and wins the SEC title. I bet that their would be all sorts of pressure to jump UGA over a 2nd Big 12 team or even ohio state

In less than 4 hours or so we

Nov 28, 2014, 1:48 PM

will know if any of that can be set in motion. Mizzou is facing a hot Arky team, but I personally think Mizzou will handle their business and end the UGA talk.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Georgia could still make it in....

Nov 28, 2014, 1:43 PM

But Mizzou has to lose to Arky and UGA would have to win the SECCG.

would they forgive two losses to 6-6 teams?***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Think about MIzzou running it but

Nov 28, 2014, 1:52 PM [ in reply to Georgia could still make it in.... ]

UCLA beating Oregon. That would create some wackiness.

If bama and miss st lose then the playoff is set. Bama, Miss st, Auburn and Ole Miss will be the playoff teams (if espn has their way).
