games on the road. He didn’t like having to sit around the hotel all day and it doesn’t give the home crowd as much time to get fired up.

The Primary reason for that

Is because they get back to Clemson at a decent hour. Night games on the road mean getting back to Clemson in the middle of the night. Late afternoon games gets you back near midnight. Noon games get you back home in the evening. Simple as that.
