I fear that Louisville is going to come after Morris.

Jan 4, 2014, 4:21 PM

It's a great opportunity for Morris and it makes too much sense for Louisville to pass up. They have gone after top coordinators in the past. Also, Louisville is coming to the ACC. Chad knows the conference. It is a good fit for both parties.

Don't think Morris leaves just yet

RichRod would be perfect for Louisville....he would be my guess and I would love to see him back in the ACC

Jeff Scott can handle it and

No. No more Napier-like hires. There are......

plenty of young, successful OC's out there that would LOVE to come to CU.

Jeff Scott is in Morris' back pocket being groomed for the OC job when The Chad leaves.

and that scares the hell out of me.

remember when his dad took over for RR and tried to run that offense?

no thanks.

I will take a guy who has his own system.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hmmm. He has spent 3 years learning this offense.

Jan 4, 2014, 6:48 PM

Who knows?

i would rather it be HIS system.

Anyone can call a play. its about knowing when to call certain things and why.

How about Strong coming after

Jan 4, 2014, 4:32 PM

Chad as OC for Texas. More money and better steeping stone to HC back in his stomping ground.

That's what I would do if I were him. I think there's a

very good chance Strong offers CM the OC job, unless he and his current OC go way back.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I hope not! CCM is in a pretty dang good position

Jan 4, 2014, 4:33 PM

here at CU. He's making $1.3M/year as an assistant and doesn't have to deal with many of the extra stress of being the HC. Not that I think he wouldn't take a HC job somewhere at some point, but I truly feel CCM will be here for at least another few years. I think he wants to see his O with Watson at the helm.....I know I do. I really hope I'm right! However, if the man gets the offer he wants, he has certainly earned it. I'll definitely enjoy him while we have him.

Louisville

Jan 4, 2014, 4:34 PM

Really don't think he wants to play Clemson every year Louisville is coming to our side Morris don't want to see that

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He said he wanted to wait for a good position

Jan 4, 2014, 4:43 PM

Louisville is pretty darn good. Lots of money, a program on the rise. And all you have to do is have a winning record to stay. Lose to Clemson and Fsu every year and they will still love you. And as for advancement, Strong is going to Texas.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I fear that Louisville is going to come after Morris.

Jan 4, 2014, 4:43 PM

Morris is a great offensive mind however Dabo will find another great offensive mind.If Morris leaves all will not be lost.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Louisville is a possibility.

Jan 4, 2014, 4:45 PM

But him going to Texas won't happen. Other than the fact that Strong will prob attempt to bring his current staff with him, Chad won't make as much money as coordinator with anyone else.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There are four

Jan 4, 2014, 4:54 PM

short term options I see for The Chad. 1. Get offered and leave to be Texas OC. 2. Get offered and leave for Louisville HC job. 3. Stay at Clemson for indefinite period. 4. Remain at Clemson until GA Tech fires CPJ and try to become their HC (don't be surprised if this occurs in the next 12 months).

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'd take Louisville over GT.

Jan 4, 2014, 5:45 PM

Louisville has more money, a bigger stadium (after the upcoming g expansion), and a better current roster of talent.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I doubt he would even consider GT after Johnson

Jan 4, 2014, 5:51 PM [ in reply to There are four ]

he would be rebuilding for the first 3 seasons

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

Re: I fear that Louisville is going to come after Morris.

Jan 4, 2014, 5:47 PM

Morris is good but Strong was a D coord for a long time including a national champ at Fla before getting bigtime Div 1 job offers

I think Louisville may be a bigger job now than when Strong took it so Morris is safe at Clemson for now
