I can't see any valid reason not to have football. This deal

sucks, to be clear, and a 65 yr old acquaintance of mine in Charleston nearly died due to pneumonia from Covid. But, our hospital systems are not overrun.

I talked to one of the dept heads at MUSC in Charleston, and they had only used 17 beds for Covid patients as of last week. 17 total beds. Thank God. But they had over 200 beds ready in the wellness center that have fortunately gone unused.

The decisions that were made were made because we didn't know how this virus was gonna act. We made these decisions to not overload our hospitals. We didn't make these decisions to "not get the virus." 40% or so of the population is gonna get the virus. We can't make it disappear.

But our hospitals are nowhere close to being overloaded. We've gotta start living life. If a resurgence happens, then we now have protocols in place so that we can quickly act accordingly. But we shouldn't continue to live our life in isolation at this point.

Be smart if you're immunocompromised, of course, but it's about time to go.

Couldn’t agree more, hopefully this will pass soon and we will all be tailgating in a sea of orange in Sept.

For obvious reasons, major events like college football games are the very last thing that will happen.

We should have a good idea in a few weeks since quarantines are being rolled back beginning this month. Because CFP revenue is so important to all college sports, I think there is still a chance some kind of season happens. No looking good right now though.
