I think my coot friend is messing with me, but he keeps telling me that the coots are prepared to give Lee a significant raise to return to their program as HC. I've just laughed it off so far. Let's hope I have the last laugh.

I don't think monte will go back to coot town they kinda cast him to the side for holbrocks and I don't think he will forget that anytime soon though I could be wrong and he went to coc b4 that but he wanted to be HC for coots they didn't want him they wanted holbrooks or w.e his name is. Monte won't leave for cootumbia take that to the bank!

in at a job that's on fairly equal footing. I don't think Monte is a realistic option for them.

There are a lot of people in cootville that want Monte

But when you watch that last presser with Andrew and Logan, no way he leaves. Nah, he wants this program and knows he can succeed here. That being said, I can see where we would have to up the bucks and at a minimum up the incentives. Not sure what he makes but give him 7 figures if that's what it takes.
As for the poor little chickens - Odds are they're going after UVA coach. Not sure he'll leave UVA but he will get asked to come to cootville.

Fortunately the end of the year run collapse ruined a lot of monte love by gamecock fans. But those fans were awfully annoying back in April.

Abolutely no on 7 figures for a baseball coach!!!!

I have heard that Monte is money-motivated,but aren't we all to some extent, and Tanner will throw it at him. When they have a $30M per year more in revenue than us, it makes it much easier.

I'm not going to question you or your source but I don't get the feeling that Monte is all that money motivated to where he'd up and leave for more money. I think he gets 450 this year or next, not sure but I'd say give him 600 and incentives to 7 figures for a Natty. No problem with that.
I want to see Clemson do anything possible to bring us championships in ALL sports.

include Iptay contributions in their accounting; UCS includes GC $. The gap is not nearly that large and UCS expenses are also greater.

of how he rose to the coaching position he's in now. There was a period where he basically coached Spartanburg Methodist for free. He may have changed, but he doesn't give me that kind of vibe.

Brian O'Connor is not leaving UVa for CootU...
Jun 7, 2017, 11:46 AM
[ in reply to There are a lot of people in cootville that want Monte ] |

Right now, UVa is a better program than $CU, O'Connor built that program over a thirteen year period, and he has already proven he can win a Championship at UVa. Furthermore, UVa can match any monetary offer that $CU makes. Why would he leave?
Now, Kevin McMullan on the other hand, might be a possibility. Mullen has served as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator at Virginia for the past 14 seasons and is considered one of the top assistants in the game.
The guy at West Virginia, Derek Matlock, might also be a possibility.

I don't see why the UVA coach would leave so the targets would really be an Eric Bakich or the WF head coach type coach.

The guy at West Virginia, Derek Matlock, might also be a possibility as well as Tom Walter at Wake Forest.

Friend of mine said this morning that his wife knows a lady that works in the AD and word is that Lee is leaving for Cootlumbia. I find that very hard to believe but I'm sure they will at least try and get him and force us to at least give him a raise to stay.

He has expressed some dislike for some of the "mandatory" iptay donations required by coaches here? This was at some so called private events recently. Just a rumor but? ? I guess we shall see. It would definitely put the pressure on Radakovich to make a power hire to send a message.

Please tell your friends wife's friend that if Monte knows what's good for him, he better stay in tigertown. It'll take one year like Clemson had before they want to toss him too.
