Freeze may not currently be “welcome” in the SEC. Some think that he is banned from the league for a few years because, his last school is currently under sanctions from his wrongdoings.

Don Knotts would be a better fit.

Cootlumbia. Having coached in the SEC, under Saban no less, he would be at the top of the list for delusional Coots. However, I think Napier knows he will be able to do much better in a few years. He could wind up somewhere like Auburn, Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas, or Virginia Tech.

I’m thinking he’ll more likely be the first coach to turn down the offer!

I heard it was a 2 man race between Tommy and Terry Bowden.

Hugh Freeze all day. 7-0 at Liberty, best record ever. They are willing to hire a cheater now, they can't stand being so far behind Clemson.

I too think Napier will be one of their targets. They think he might a clone of Dabo.

Honestly...this hire makes the most sense IMO...

which is likely why Tanner won't do it.
He's a solid coach who worked under Dabo and Saban.
He's familiar with recruiting throughout the southeast.
His current salary is less than $900,000 annually.
His current buyout is only about $1 million.
Napier would certainly be one of the more affordable options for them.

If I had to guess I would say, "The job is Napier's if he wants it."
The question then becomes: Does he want it?
My answer: I have no idea. I don't know who his agent is. I don't know what his agent is hearing from other schools. I don't know what his situation is at LA. (Does he like the job. Is he getting along with the administration. Is he looking for another job. Etc.)
My guess is he doesn't want the job. He has a very good idea that a much better job will come along in a year or two, if not this year.

Freeze is not going back to the SEC period. He knows all the schools will be watching everything he does like hawks.

That might be right. Lets face it cheating is a way of life in the SEC.
