How many seats would Clemson not have a problem filling?

Oct 11, 2013, 5:39 PM

What would be the feasible limit to expected sell-outs on gamedays in THE Death Valley?

How many stadium seats could Clemson's fan-base rationally support?    [Results]

90,000 at most. For a huge game like UGA, FSU or South Carolina we wouldn't have any trouble getting 100,000+ but you're not going to get that sort of attendance with BC or Wake.

another problem is the motels demanding 2 night and setting their rates @ $250.00 per night!! I don1t know what can be done about that but it is a real problem!!

I voted 200k assuming you were talking about FSU.

not other games.

vs. traditional rivals and ranked opponents I think 100k. Otherwise, as we've seen, we would have trouble filling 80k

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

question is a little flawed.

If the seats were good seats ( I know that is tough) I think you could do 100K. Those high upper deck seats are not better than watching on TV. Just my opinion. I think that you could fill as many in the lower bowl as you could squeeze.

90000 with every other year FL ST USuC face $400 all others

Oct 11, 2013, 6:58 PM

$0 then everyone is happy to pay face value & you could just give the others away or actually just enjoy going yourself while not having to complain about true fans vs. losing money :)

We haven't even sold out for the BC game this weekend

Oct 11, 2013, 7:24 PM

But when 76,000 or however many show up, it won't look so bad... some empty seats in the upper deck but otherwise will look like a good crowd.

You add 10,000 more seats to that and it's going to look a lot more empty even though it really isn't.

I just don't know why people want to add seats.. 80,000 is a good number and we either sell it out or at least get pretty close for each home game.. I'd rather focus on continuing to improve facilities in ways other than adding seats.

Half a mil easy, it's only 1/6 the state's population

;)

IMO two things hurt us in terms of attracting........

Oct 11, 2013, 8:20 PM

90000+ fans into Death Valley - the lack of hotels in the area and the fact that now basically all of our games are on TV.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Depends on the game...

Oct 12, 2013, 12:57 AM

I seriously doubt that Death Valley will be full for either the GT or Citadel games. In which case, 80,000 seats is too many. For FSU and SC, Clemson could probably sell 90,000 if there were anywhere to park them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

should have 15,000 movable seats only

Oct 13, 2013, 11:41 PM

games like this
