Flutie was always the underdog due to his size, but the way he kept bringing underdog BC back against the big, bad Miami Hurricanes in that game produced what is arguably THE most iconic moment in college football history, the Hail Mary. He was already well known to Clemson fans, having carried BC on his back to tie us 17-17 in a previous game in 1982.So, in my mind, #22 could never have been anybody else but Doug Flutie.
