Painted on street in front of Asheville PD with mayors blessing. Not sure that’s a smart move given the cities reliance on tourism. Could be wrong.

They want to cut some funding and use that money for rehabs, mental health, etc. They want to keep the police. They dont want to fund military style vehicles etc. They want less arrests and incarcerations for minor bs. They want that money used on things that help prevent crime.

yes, there are people who mean reform, the vast majority who are holding signs and shouting "defund the police" want to get rid of the police.
The media knows that this message doesn't play well for most Americans, so they are scrambling redefine the slogan.
"Reform the Police" has the same number of syllables as "Defund the Police" and just as easy to spell and pronounce.

They also said they want to send social workers on domestic violence calls, unarmed. Cops will tell you those are some bad calls as one never knows if one or both will attack ya
