Have people lost their minds?

My wife and I got out of the house this morning to just drive around. I noticed when we passed by Lowe’s and Home Depot in Greer the parking lots were full! Is it just me or does that seem reckless during this time?

Apparently Lowe's decided this would be a good weekend for a Black Friday type of sale. As you noted, the lot was full...so I kept on going. I was not getting in that mess.
I had placed an order online, yesterday, including payment. It was for some concrete blocks which I felt would mean I could pull up to a designated spot and load up. WRONG! I was told to go inside to sign a receipt. That defeated the entire purpose of the online order.
I'd like to get bags of soil/amendment for a raised bed, but you can't order that online? What, exactly, are they thinking?

It is especially when most things can be delivered to your house.

including 100% of the things that are sold at Lowe’s. At the very least, Lowe’s should have online shopping only and have appointments for picking it up at customer service. People that are going to Lowe’s to just look around are not helping the cause at all.

But taking a risk of serious illness or death just for your family members to pass the time is seriously stupid. Considering that it might put others at risk makes it even worse...
Getting groceries is an essential activity, and only one person should go. Taking the whole family out in public to kill time is ignorant...

I wish they’d clear out. I need to go get some stuff...if I’m going to be stuck at home I’m going to work on projects around the house.

as someone who has been rebuked here for going to grocery stores, it normally isn't that bad inside of stores. the lots at publix, ingles, will often look mostly full, but once inside, it turns out there are seemingly very few people wandering around.

We've been out for a couple of long drives and have been shocked that the Lowe's parking lots are the fullest that I've ever seen. Everyone buying yard stuff I guess, pretty disgusting. As much as I'm concerned about the overreach of government and our economy, we must All use social distancing till this thing dies a natural death. It needs to pass from host to host but it can't find me!

I believe Home Depot canceled their spring promotions even though Spring is their Christmas for sales. Both Home Depot and Lowes need to limit the people in store like Target and Walmart are doing.

I went to Lowes this week for the last time this summer. I've been getting everything before it gets bad. I figure my chances are better when the infection rate is running about 1 out of every 10,000 people than if it blows up like New York and gets to 1 out of every 175 people.
I am still working and have limited contact with people, but nothing the the grocery store or lowes.

Wally World has started a practice on how many people are allowed into the store at a given time... Do a little investigating... We are going into a DEPRESSION that will make 1929-1941 look like a cake walk... Our $'s will make good mattress stuffing...Until we start a few wars...

It is an essential busines so there is no issue being there. How else will I fix a faulty circuit breaker in my home?
I get the sense some groups will not be happy until everything is closed and all we can do is sit on the couch watching covid news. Heck we will probably be chastised for watching any content except for covid.

Maybe those people don't think like some of you. Maybe if you're scared stay home but don't look down your nose at the rest of society who want to go out and don't believe in Government overreach. You can trust what you hear and read in the media but this guy doesn't. As a matter of fact they are very much over inflating the number of deaths due to coronavirus. People complaining that loved ones who have passed from completely different reasons are being added to the deaths caused by Covid-19. So to me that is an agenda. When you are lying to the American people to fit a narrative then something stinks. I know you have to carefully take what you read and hear with a grain of salt regardless where you read it or hear it but there was word out that of all the thousands that died in Italy only 12% were due to coronavirus complications. Then you have the baby in Connecticut that the Governor tried to blame Covid-19 but in reality was due to suffocation. And I'm suppose to believe this is some otherworldly disease, I don't think so. So call me what you want tell me how irresponsible I am because I could give a rat's behind what anyone thinks. We are are ruining the lives of hundreds of millions of people because the regularly wrong projection claim 100,000 to 240,000 may die, give me a break because when we started they were saying 2 to 3 millions would die. Sorry but there are strange things happening. Anyways since 1776 we have had people give their life for freedom and liberty and here in 2020 we are willing to hand it right over because of a virus. George Washington must be turning over in his grave. Freedom is never free and liberty kills but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I pulled the number of cases by state from the CDC website and matched it up with the population and population density by state. (This was yesterday).
What the numbers said yesterday is that the average # of cases per 10,000 residents nationally is 7.43, ranging from 1.18 in West Virginia to 45.61 in New York. South Carolina is currently at 3.17 cases per 10,000 residents, ranked 27th in the country, and this is in spite of our not having a mandatory stay-at-home order in place or any of these ridiculous restrictions on what people are allowed to buy. If you look at similar states in terms of population density, SC's 3.17 compared to the other states' 4.05 per 10,000.
As much as I hate it, I have no quarrel with what has been done in terms of temporarily cancelling all of the events that draw big crowds together. But this crap about trying to absolutely bring the entire country to a standstill and crush our economy and the livelihoods of tens of millions has got to stop. There are other ways to approach this rationally that will mitigate the mortality rate from the virus and still allow life (and the economy) to go on.

I’ve been to Lowe’s at least 10 times since this non sense started, I should prob drop dead any day now. At least my yard looks great! Don’t worry, I can only infect the other idiots at Lowe’s, not all the professors on here.

I've been to Lowe's only twice in recent weeks. Once to get some 'maters to plant along with some garden soil and some cucumber seeds. And once to get fertilizer for my lawn. I wore my mask the 2nd visit, but most peeps did not have one on.
Those 'mater sammiches are gonna be really good in a few months when the grocery stores no longer have anything to eat.
I will probably build me a raised bed, and go to Lowe's once more for a lot of garden soil to fill it with, and a lot of seeds for some good veggies. And NO - I won't share. Just look for a soup line.
