I'm shopping also...

The first one looks good. $200 is plenty.

That Stack On is the one I have

but do not expect to put 10 rifles in there.

One caveat - mine are in pouches/sleeves so they do take up

more space.

This is my suggestion.

Oil 'em, seal 'em, bury 'em. Of course, you'll still have to pay someone to hack into government computers and erase all records of ownership.

Browning or Liberty for the safe.

The benefit of the safe is it is also good for storing documents, jewelry, valuables, etc. Plus, you can anchor it to floor joists and wall studs and it won't go anywhere. Get a good fireproof one, and then put documents in a smaller fireproof box inside. Guaranteed to work.

Re: Gun Safe or Gun Cabinet?

I was in a similar position about a year and a half ago. I bought a small gun cabinet (I believe smaller than either of those you linked) for around $150. I thought "I don't need to store many guns, I want to take up as little space in the house as possible, I don't want to spend a lot of money, etc." A year and a half later, I wish I had spent more for a larger gun safe.

The cabinet is fine for what it is, I guess, but it doesn't strike me as especially secure and I learned the hard way that a "8-gun cabinet" doesn't hold close to that if your guns have scopes or you want to store ammo as well. I'm now looking at either buying a larger safe or storing some guns at my parents.

This is the best solution I have found.

You can get 2-3 guns in the bat portion, hand guns in the big bag compartment, and they are all secured with a YKK zipper which is proven to be the best option for this.
