Thanks for sharing a great article. I'm not quite old enough to have seen these guys play but I did sit next to Buck Leonard's widow a few years ago at a Negro Leagues function in Pittsburgh. Wonderful lady. Bill "Ready" Cash was also on hand with some great stories and took a real liking to my son, which was pretty cool, since I was then trying to get a 10-year-old interested in the game's history. And it worked, too. To this day, he enjoys giving friends tours of my Negro League shrine, which is housed in a room with my Clemson shrine.
