Brownell recruit recounts stressful week
Clyde Trapp heard and saw all of the rumors, and he perused the message boards in the hopes of finding out what was transpiring with the head coach and the school he is going to attend. But he never worried. Full Story » |

Do you think he'll play next year? I'm betting he red shirts. He's very athletic but IMO needs to add some weight. I think a year in the weight room would help him a good bit IMO.

Willing to bet Brownell isn't about to RS anyone.

Clemson never has done a lot of "developmental" red shirting in hoops anyway. Usually takes and injury to hold a guy out as a freshman. Sadly though, it seems we've had a fair number of late bloomers who arrived at their senior year just beginning to come around only to see their eligiblity ran out. Especially some of our big men the past decade or so.

His offers are almost exactly like those of Demontez Stitt
Mar 22, 2017, 8:46 PM

Stitt was a 3-star guy with ACC offers only from Clemson and Ga Tech and only a handful of other schools of any note at all like East Carolina and Georgia..
He was "Mister Basketball" in the state of North Carolina and got no offers from any of the four Tobacco Road schools.
Stitt turned out okay ... IMHO we could use a Demontez Stitt in our recruiting class every year.

I know for a fact that So Carolina offered and then when David Beatty from Philadelphia showed interest and then signed with SC, the offer was basically tabled. So Carolina had their shooting guard and there was not room for Trapp.
Georgia also signed another Shooting Guard and they went in a different direction.
That means his true open offers were
Clemson, ACC Georgia Tech, ACC Missouri, SEC Kansas State Big 12
And a bunch of much smaller minor offers from non-Power 6 schools............Buffalo, Charlotte, App State, Duquesne, East Tennessee State, Rice, La Salle, Maryland-Eastern Shore, North Carolina-Pembroke, Portland, South Carolina State, Southern, South Florida, Tennessee State, VCU, and Winthrop

I'm thankful he's coming to Clemson with an additude that he was coming no matter what. I love this kid already and he's going to be great for Clemson.
Attitude and willingness to develop and put the work has taken many 2 & 3 star players at Clemson and put them in the NFL.
Welcome to Clemson and go Tigers!

No one insulted anyone.
Heck the kid may play in the NBA and lead the ACC in scoring. Who knows.
I just stated 2 facts. USC and UGA rescinded the offer after others signed at the same position. Those are facts.
Sorry facts offend you.
But like every other idiot on here, when someone shows facts that hurt your little biddy feelings, you simply call them a coot....wwooooooooooooo. you showed me.

These are type kids we need. They are dedicated to CU and stay dedicated no matter who coach is. He is signing to the school and it just happens he likes the coach.

Wish him the best, and Clemson is in the realm of the best well-rounded universities in the country. Absolutely nothing wrong with academics at Rice, Ga Tech and UGA either. This is a young man who wants to attend Clemson and is OK with Brownell as a HC; this is not a young man who expects to play for BB for 4 years.
