Oh come on, the national narrative is now going to be about our win being in OT because someone on ESPN made a mistake and said OT? Anyways, is there really a measurable difference in winning a game by 1 point by stopping a 2 point conversion with just over 1 minute left in regulation, and winning the game in overtime?
As if someone listening today would come up to you and say "oh goodness, you guys had to go to overtime to beat UNC? I'm not sure if you deserve to be one of the top 4 teams" and after correcting them that we actually won by 1 point in regulation they would suddenly change their opinion and assume we're the best team in the country?

2 pt conversion at the end of the game to avoid losing are very similar from a perception standpoint. I wouldn't think of this Clemson team any differently had UNC chosen to kick the extra point and taken the game to OT.

We only scored on 3 of our 11 (real) possessions and i have zero confidence in Potter making a kick with the game on the line. He had already missed a 40 yarder in that game. We would've had a shot to win but our odds would've been <50% for sure.

And you expect him to be perfect? At the end of the day, does it change our win to a loss? He probably had overtime on the brain because of the Georgia game earlier. I have no reason to take up for Galloway in general, but it gets annoying watching 10+ posts on here each time someone on ESPN makes a mistake as if it's some grand conspiracy.

They said similar things when stopped NDs 2 point attempt. Played it as if ND was going for the win when the best they could have done was to send it to OT.

Well since all of our other games have been over by halftime, I guess still playing a competitive game through the 4th quarter was kind of like overtime to our 1st and 2nd stringers.
