Good Idea? Or Bad Idea?

Wanting to know how many people think A. this might happen. B. if it's a good idea or not?

The question: Does the group of 5 need it's own national champion?

**we have it for FBS? Division III and FCS. Even Juco has one.

I kind of think of think they should: on the grounds they really have zero shot at a NC the way it's structured now. With all the expense associated with football programs. New health concerns and rising insurance cost related to the game play a factor. If these schools are to remain motivated and engaged - I think it may be necessary. Agree? Disagree?

Pffft! Ery body no's you can't have a national championship with just 5 conferences, no matter how power they are.

You are right of course! The thing is: aren't we saying to the gof5 "you are just waisting your time"? Unless, some miracle upsets happen at the right time and they have some quality top 20 wins; they are wasting their collective time.

Forget about the time. What about the money they poor into those programs. To not have a "realistic shot" at getting to the playoffs is the thing. I think there will come a day when they ban together and demand their own championship.

I don't agree with expanding the CFP at all. I think it's right where it needs to be. More than top 4 brings into play too many opportunities for an already over-hyped, over-ranked SEC team. Which would increase their odds of doing well in the playoffs. Which in turn would be proof to the SEC-diots that the SEC is "really that good"! They aren't as a whole; their top teams are real good and then like every other conference - fall way down.
