Golf Carts on Gamedays...

Oct 15, 2013, 2:35 PM

What are the rules and regulations for having a golf cart on campus on Gamedays? Does anyone know?

Just get it on campus before Gameday. Stick some official looking semi-official signage on it and you'll be good to go.

I'd suggest something like "FCA Guest Escort Service" or "Food Services Catering".

I think you are required to have an loud obnoxious horn for startling people you come up behind. ;)

And you must park them...

outside Gate 13 in a barricade fashion blocking folks from Lot 6.

And drivers aren't allowed to speak to pedestrians

the horns are the only allowed form of communication, even if an audible "excuse me" would be more polite and far more effective.

"Golf Carts
All golf carts will be limited to areas around the stadium. Golf cart placards are only provided to individuals who are working personnel. Unless you have a golf cart placard, you will not be permitted near the stadium, but specifically on Centennial Avenue, Williamson Road, and Shotgun Alley. Personal golf cart use is highly discouraged. There are entirely too many safety incidents each week resulting in the use of golf carts around the stadium. Personal golf carts left in front of a stadium gate or found on roadways adjacent to the stadium will be removed."

I would add, make sure your liability insurance is updated.

Judging by the amount of golf carts in the lots and around the stadium, I would say there are no rules, or no rules enforced.

Golf cart use is discouraged but not prohibited

Similar to generators. Their use is discouraged but the University doesn't enforce it.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Whatever you do - be careful and make sure you have insurance. I know someone in a golf cart accident before the homecoming game.

Stopped traffic and EMS, university police and highway patrol on the scene.

I'd love to see them have a golf cart demo derby. :)
