From "nothing new under the sun" playbook

Gunsmoke, 1956 episode, on yesterday. With a very young James Arness. The whole episode was about a pandemic hitting the little cow town and how they were going to need to quarantine the businesses and lose profits and isolate people. I assume the show was set about 1890.

My Dad shared a flight with James Arness back in the 50's. He said when he stood up, he almost touched the ceiling. Said he was was a very nice guy.

james arness played the space alien monster in the original version of 'the thing',a movie from the 1950's.
