It's going to be very hard to do. Hope we can, and if we can continue to improve, we could have a chance. However, we have to get by a treacherous NC State team. Then I really worry about Maryland, which I believe is the "sleeper" in the league. And then there is S. Carolina down there. That said, this Clemson team is a much tougher team than it has been in the last few years. We'll see. Our secondary definitely has to come on.

"the one" loss that happened two seasons ago.
And for some reason, they even want to stretch that ONE bad game into TWO losses.

My estimates
Sep 18, 2013, 11:46 AM
|
|
Warning - math alert.
Basic statistics tell us that the probability of a series of events happening can be calculated by multiplying the probability of each event. For example - the odds flipping a coin and getting heads twice in a row is 50% X 50% = 25%.
So, based on that, I guesstimated the probability of us winning each of our remaining games individually. With those percentages you can see what the probability of winning all our games up to any point in the season is.
This table has each remaining opponent, what I think the probability is that we'd win that game, and the cumulative probability that we'll remain undefeated through that game. This illustrates how tough it is to stay undefeated!
Game Game Win % Cumulative Wins % @NCSU 85% 85% Wake 95% 80.75% @Syr 85% 68.64% BC 90% 61.77% FSU 70% 43.24% @Md 80% 34.59% @UVa 85% 29.40% GT 85% 25.00% Citadel 100% 25.00% @SCar 50% 12.50%
Based on math, we're due to lose a game soumewhere around the BC / FSU / @Md timeframe.
But to h-ll with that (to quote Dr. Lou) - my prediction is 14-0!

The good news is the math resets after each game. We'll then have a 95% chance of beating Wake, 80.75% after Cuse, etc...

1)As long as they don't pull a "Clemson". 2)As long as they don't lose. 3)As long as they score more points in a game than their opponent. 4)As long as at the end of the game, our team's score is bigger than the other teams score. If I can think of any others before bed time,I will let you know.

Why don't we just concentrate on winning one game at a time, rather than indulging in fantasies about going undefeated?
