It's unbelievable that this call is still being called controversial, despite the still photograph (freely available on the internet) that clearly shows that the player stepped squarely on the sidline marker, and was therefore OUT OF BOUNDS. It's right there for anyone to see. This continuing nonsense has got to be political.

I thought that if you lined up inside the tackle box you could block below the knee?

I find it funny that the ACC office is going to extreme....

depths to investigate the accuracy of this call when it involves and benefits us. Do the go to such extreme measures to investigate "bad" calls and issue statements in basketball when those call benefit UNC and/or Duke? No, of course not.

There were more than enough no-calls all night to make up for it. Their left tackle could not block Beasley at all. he held on for dear life on pretty much every play. there was a lot of holding inside as well. Our DTs were wrecking shop. In general the Tiger defensive line destroyed the NCST OL.

To make up for what? Go look at the photo. The call was absolutely correct. Has no one else seen that photograph???

conversation in the second half. State player ran a swallow cross and the referee took out Breland I think. The ref took a step back which was into his path. State could have had a huge play but our defense runs so well we stopped them. things happen in ball games usually to us more than other teams so as the ACC says "it is over move on nothing to see here"

ACC officials have made a lot of bad calls on us and never made any comment. NC State is just mad because they lost. I can remember many years ago when we lost to them at Clemson because of a bad call. I say from looking at the video over and over that he stepped on the line. Anyway we won and not because this incident.

ACC officials also announced that the referee had nothing to do with the ncsu quarterback fumbling two plays later. Official review confirms this.

Where Is Greg Brady When You Need Him?

Maybe he's still in the dark room developing his photos from the game. I have a strong feeling Marcia's boyfriend stole our playbook though.

I don't care how many angles look like he didn't step out, if one shows he did, and it does, then that's it. He's out. All those other angles and views are irrelevent.

Wow. I thought he stayed in bounds but now that I look at this picture it does look like he stepped out of bounds to me. If you think the line between his shoe and the white line is grass it is actually the soul/bottom of his shoe that makes this line. Take a line straight on the inside part of the out of bounds line and you will see that it gets impeded by his shoe. To me this was the right call.

Bottom line
Sep 21, 2013, 9:56 AM

One play should NEVER decide the football game for you. And if you feel like it did the your team simply did not play well enough to win. We have been on both sides of these kinds of " controversies" in the past and at the end of the day......... You simply should have played better.

Really a poorly officiated game all-around, but if you're counting on perfect officiating to win a game, you're going to have a bad time.
