With all of the discussion on the baseball renovations and how we are lacking in the facilities department in Baseball, I was thinking…. What if we began a project to put the North Football Stands on wheels?
Similar to a professional moving cart, these wheels would be secured and locked down during all home football games, but would be unlocked during away games and moved to all outdoor sporting venues. Immediately, our stadiums for soccer, baseball, outdoor basketball?,and intramural sports would rank #1 in facility size and we would quit having to worry about not having a standout facility for all these sports. The North Stands would look great behind the Chapman grandstands and would be very intimidating for the opposition. I think the cost of adding 10-15,000 wheels or tires to support the load is more financially reasonable than the millions of dollars we are planning to put into the Olympic sports over the next decade. Heck, we could even get Michelin to give us a deal. Thoughts?
