So, I've got a concern about Jameis sitting out the 1st half

Sep 18, 2014, 2:06 PM

Will he be on the sidelines or in the locker room? This question looms large. If he's in the locker room, he could spend the entire half simply reviewing ongoing game film and dissecting defensive schemes as they play out, identifying matchup issues and other potential weaknesses to a much greater extent than that afforded a player who is on the sidelines or on the field itself for the half. Sure, coaches cover this type of thing during halftime, but having essentially 90 minutes to study in depth what we're doing right then is a huge advantage for someone to step into a game mid way.

He will be on the sidelines running his mouth.***

Your concern is beyond his intelligence level.

If that's the case, why doesn't every starting QB sit out

Sep 18, 2014, 2:08 PM

the first half of every game to review film and identify match-up issues?

That is a good point but also it usually takes most QBs a couple poss to get going . Our D will already be in the game and JW hopefully will be rusty with the 2 weeks off.

Just have Publix deliver a large order of crab legs to the locker room - might get him all sluggish by halftime.

That would require a QB with mental ability to understand

and dissect the film. Not the case here.

I would guess that we see two different

defensive schemes in the 1st and 2nd halves.

Either you need to get back on your meds...

...and not be so paranoid.

Or you need to better understand the amount of technology on the sideline, and there is nothing he'd learn watching on TV that the coaches in the box don't see and communicate down.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

^^this. It doesn't matter whether he's in the lockeroom or on th sidelines. He can still have a headset on talking to people in the box.
