As you did with DW4? I would say about halfway through the 2015 season i stopped worrying about our games because i knew as long as DW4 was healthy, we would win. I have a lot of confidence in TL but its still not where i was with DW4 and im not sure why considering he's never lost a game. Maybe its just the vibe that DW4 gave out or maybe its because he was in more 4th quarter games than TL has been in. DW4 also had a way of making something out of nothing. What do you think?

I don't think I'll ever have the same confidence with anyone as DW4. He occupies a special place for me.
That said, I have strong confidence in TL. He's an assassin with the football.

Yes I do. They are kinda complimentary of each-other. Both elite QB's with DW4 being a better runner than TL but TL being a better passer. I think a lot of people default to DW4 being better because he could do more "alone" but they are both absurdly good. Also the offensive talent around TL, besides TE, is absurdly good. We genuinely had a great OL, RB's, and WR's which IMO makes this TL offense more dangerous than our DW4 teams.

The only thing I worry about TL is him getting hurt but he also seems to more durable.
TL is the best QB Clemson has ever had, DW4 was good but TL is better.

situations many times. We actually still don't know what TL will do in a "barn burner" game late in the 4th quarter...
I'm sure he'll do fine - but I don't KNOW he'll do fine. We KNEW DW4 would do fine because we saw it...

He did throw a beautiful pass to Higgins in the 4th quarter against UNC to give us the lead. Watson just had a way of getting out of pressure and finding an open receiver. Its almost like a 6th sense to him

I was nervous as a long tail cat in a room full of rockers when DW took the field. Not that I doubted his ability but the difference in talent on opposing teams especially in the postseason games.
I have had anxiety since Trevor took the starting job.

DW4 faced a tougher schedule and willed us to victory in some tough games, so there was plenty of evidence to support your confidence.
TL may very well have that same sort of toughness of will (I believe that he does) but he really hasn't had to show it yet - we've been just THAT good.
However, if the Tigers want to continue winning going away, that's fine by me.

with the mental aspect like knowing checks before the snap and reading defenses and what not..but even with all of that i never feel like lawrence will out right lose us a game...i did have that feeling with boyd at times...dude did a lot for clemson and was great..but he was known to check out of the game after taking a few hits..see that year against the coots we were winning then when clowney started getting to him he got rattled..havent seen that with lawerence

Maybe Clowney got in his head, but overall i dont think you can say that about Boyd, he took a beating in the LSU game and never came out. Im pretty sure he never missed a game in his career. I do remember the time Boyd got carted off the field only to return to practice the next day, lol. I think it was the 2012 season, cant remember what game.

think that if we don't turn it over Saturday, we win. On defense I worry about the D-Line a bit and getting pressure on the QB without 1) letting him run and 2) leaving Muse on an island.

Not sure what happened there....... I have even more confidence in TL than I did with DW4. That’s saying a lot.....I had a lot of confidence in DW4.

It's probably for several reasons. TL is more laid back

and so smooth in execution that you don't appreciate his abilities as much. But most of all it's probably because he really hasn't had to come from behind in any games because we're always two or three scores ahead of the other teams and almost every fourth quarter he's been standing on the sideline laughing and cheering instead of leading a game-saving drive.
But I guarantee you that he'll be able to an will do it when he needs to. Just like DW4, he's best when the competition's at its best because just like DW4, he's an ultimate competitor.
Of course I hope he doesn't have to prove it to you tomorrow night or in two weeks. A lot better for my old ticker that way.
