Stopping GT was not a line problem

GT had trouble with the Dive all day in both games, and it was because of the Line.
LB play was the #1 killer against GT.

You know...with so much depth on the D-Line, and just OK depth at LB, I wonder if we should actually consider some form of a 5-2 to get as much talent on the field as possible. Obviously this wouldn't work against spread offenses, (well maybe a 5-1-4), but against GT, I think a 5-2 could be the way to go. We have GOT to find a way to stop their running attack, and it starts upfront on the line.

could always fall back if so desired.
We have to DO SOMETHING to CRUSH some heads and intimidate someone.

While reading the article, i was thinking the exact same thing. If we are so talented up front and a little sketchy at LB it seems to make a lot of sense. But i am not at practice with those guys and i am surely no coach. Just my opinion based on what i read.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a 3-4 look with 2 DE's standing

up... essentially a 5-2.
That and a 4-2-5. Last year, Steele predominantly ran 4-2-5 based off all the spread stuff we saw.

I played a little QB in high school, (little meaning we threw it about twice per game, lol) but anyway i hated to see the odd man fronts with someone always over the center. Really limits your double team options for the Offense. If our D-line is as good as advertised, it would be a tough to find an O-line that could match up man to man with our D-line. (JMO)

I trust our coaches and know they know more than I do. But with that many studs on the DL, couldn't we find one or two to convert to O-Line to help out there? Do we have 2nd or 3rd team DL that could be 1st team OL?

defensive and offensive linemen are so different our defensive linemen would not do near as well as our offensive linemen do at their position and in reply to the 5-2 against ga tech with the two standing ends id rather have them down and contain the edges or run a qb spy because it was the option that killed us

I though we really got after GT when we had two guys over center. That really seemed to disrupt them. Also need a little tighter coverage on defense. Our receivers are always covered tightly and theirs are wide open. Maybe sandlot receivers and run to green grass is what we need. Also, if we need three yards don't throw a one yard pass or nine yards and a five yard pass. Get past the first down marker at least!
