Could we run the ball against Bama after TL

loosens them up some with quick passes?

We haven’t run effectively against them in three chances though different teams now.

DW did scramble against them effectively in 2015. They shut Gallman completely down and KB, Etienne, Feaster last year.

Also, could we stop their run? LSU could have been in the game if they could have stopped the run.

Nobody is gonna run on Bama effectively if they do not fear a passing game. LSU lacked that and got shut down, looked like us last year. Having said that nobody will run for 300+ yards on them either, run will be enough to keep them honest in the passing game and not stack the box. BE happy for 4 yards a carry and that will win the day.

The only way to run against them is to beat their defense up by running the ball twice then throwing it for a first down. Imo, if we 'keep them honest,' with the run we can wear their defense down. We must keep the ball away from them to do this.

I do not believe they are as deep as Clemson. Not that they don't have 5 stars stacked up behind their defensive starters but that they haven't developed them quite yet as well as we have.

Bama's defense isn't better this year than last. They still have some fine starters but they aren't nearly as deep. Oh they have plenty of 5 stars behind their starters but not nearly the quality of experience.

If we run often enough to keep them honest and recognize when the underdeveloped players come in we can torture them by holding onto the ball with long sustained drives using hard runs, short passes with a few deep shots especially those where we get one on one coverage.
