Coach says Deshaun Watson "is as good as I've ever seen"
Jeff Scott has been around football and football players his entire life, so if he thinks a player is special you have to listen. Like many fans, Scott thinks that Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson is special and he says that Watson is one of the best he’s seen once the ball is snapped. He also thinks Clemson fans are witnessing one of the best to ever don the paw. Full Story » |

If DW4 stays healthy...

I have to admit that I cringed as DW4 powered through with his legs to get across the goal line for TD #2 at Syracuse. A gritty play for sure. I keep telling myself that he's bigger and stronger and tougher than last year, but with his legs exposed like that at the goal line... OMG, I don't even want to think about it. He is special and I don't want anything to happen to him.
GO TIGERS!!!

I just pray he will not get hurt. He has to play without fear and that is where he is mentally strong, if he was afraid of getting hurt he would not be the player he is. I think he just plays and does his best to get stronger.
Go Tigers... if he were to win the Heisman it will be because the whole team is supporting him and helping him. He cannot do it alone...Tigers we leave the Heisman preparation to you guys. We know you support and believe in each other and so I know you will BE the team. You will believe and you will execute to do your very best. Go Tigers....

What quarterback, past or present, does DW most remind you of? I'd say Joe Montana.

As far as leadership and ability to command an offense, the 2 are comparable. However,DW4 is much better running the ball and throwing the deep ball!

hmm.... Fran Tarkenton. Maybe with a little Johnny U. thrown in there, too. Yeah, I think that's about right. No higher praise, nor more accurate evaluation, imo.

Who ? He is unlike anyone ...he is DW4 !
So mentally tough , which is a QB aspect that is more important than any other ability that he may share with thousands of others .

Right on - see my "comparison", above. Mental toughness is primarily what I was comparing between them. Add to that talent and a will to win.

I'd have to say Randall Cunningham. It was hard as heck to spy him or blitz him without him being able to read it quickly, adjust and do work on a defense. They have similar builds and have similar movement also.

DW4 reminds me of the best of two QB's - The cool of Joe Montana with the skills of Warren Moon. The game was never too big for Joe and Warren Moon touch on the deep ball was off the chart.
