Chase @ Duke QB

Sep 27, 2020, 10:05 PM

Having a rough season.

Duke: Duke’s quarterback troubles may not be solved, after all. The addition of Clemson transfer Chase Brice seemed like a major pickup for the Blue Devils, but he has struggled mightily through three games in a Duke uniform. In Saturday’s 38-20 loss to Virginia, Brice completed just 16-of-36 passes and tossed four interceptions. All four came in the second half and three of those interceptions came on consecutive possessions. Duke actually led 20-17 when Brice threw his second INT inside the UVA 10-yard line. From there, Virginia scored on its next two possessions, flipping a 20-17 deficit into a 31-20 lead. Duke finished the afternoon with seven turnovers. Yes, seven. The Blue Devils are now 0-3.

Chase made his name as a #2 QB playing with starters

the other 10 on the field with him at Duke is a gigantic dropoff in talent.

Perfect response.

Exactly - and most of the time the game wasn't on the line..

when he did get to play at Clemson - not the same kind of pressure to perform well.

Chase doesn't have the supporting cast he had at Clemson***

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

If you have watched any of his play, he has dropped passed perfectly into WRs hands that they drop or tip. I can tell you, while he hasnt been 100%, he is far from blame. He is used to throwing to WRs that are NFL talent and can catch when it hits them in their hands. I saw a perfect pass hit player in hands but because it was over shoulder pass he totally muffed the catch. Saw at least 2 other major drops that most WRs would catch. But must admit i saw him take like 2 sacks that were not good plays.

I still think he is a quality player that might make an NFL team at least as a backup. Stats dont tell true story, hope he hangs tough!!

Chase throws a LOT of balls that are just too high

Sep 27, 2020, 10:29 PM

he needs taller WR's or some that can jump.

it's not all his fault - but he needs to bring some of those balls down.

not playing with the same level of talent he had at Clemson

Chase would be doing great if Tee had opted for grad school as well. :)

“I keep saying, we have the best two quarterbacks in the ACC.”

"50-50" balls at Clemson are 95-5 balls.

At Duke, not so much.
