Every 8-track tape deck I had went bad at some point. Cassette decks were far more reliable. And I still have one.

Every now and then, I'll take one out of my collection and fire it up on my old Technics turntable with a Shure cartridge. Analog music just has a warmth to it that's missing on digital.
