2 Back Set vs 1 Back Set w/ DW4 in Shotgun

What are yall's thoughts on the Pros and Cons of each? First of all, it seemed that good things happened when we went to a 2 back set last year. We didn't do it much, but when the opposing Defense was getting some pressure on us we would switch into it and it always seemed to loosen things up. I liked it for the most part. It seemed to jump start the running game by simply adding a lead blocker for the zone read, much like a Fullback out of the I formation. Likewise in tje passing game, we'd use the back as a lead blocker when rolling Deshaun out of the Pocket, giving him either more time to throw or a step to the edge if he tucked it and ran.

Now, with our depth at RB, including a Frosh RB that averaged 74 YPG receiveing in 4 years of HS, and talented OL, is it a good base formation? Or would we rather have the extra WR? Trying to learn more about this. Thoughts?

As an Older FB fan, I have always liked the 2 back set. In passing downs it helps protect the QB better. And in the run game you have a lead blocker and an extra man the D has to keep an eye on!!!

I think the beauty of our offense, is our depth at ALL the skill positions, having the best QB in the country and awesome offensive coordinators is being able to mix it all up. Keep the defenses guessing. Never knowing what to expect.
And I know everyone loves seeing the big break away plays but I love demoralizing a defense by chopping away 4,5,10 yards at a time marching down the field eating the clock.

My high school coach always said if u nickel and dime it down the field u will wear the defense down by the 4th quarter

Didn't we use a 2 back set with Garrett Williams in the Bama game for a TD? Seems Williams opened a hole for Gallman. I would like to see Choice open a hole for Gallman this year. Would really like to see a 2 back set with Dexter and Wilkins. Who could stop that?
