17-13 no different then 16-14

Clemson simply has to beat FSU on Saturday. We're 14-13 (8-9 in the ACC) We beat FSU and GT we're now 16-15 if we lose to VT. We win two in the ACCT, that would give us 4 top 10 victories (top 3 ACCT teams will be at least top 15) and a 18-16 final record.
19-15 and 18-16 the record doesn't really make a big difference.
You have 4 top 10 wins, as long as you won 18 games, it really doesn't matter. If that isn't true, answer me this, why did all those 18 win big ten teams get in over 20 win Clemson teams?

You have a point, but our NET ranking doesn't scream tourney team at 18 wins

Also. No chance this team gets to 18. Hope they prove me wrong.

You're not accounting the fact that adding 2 top 10 ten wins to a resume with one being on a neutral site.
Either way, I don't think a meaningless win vs GT was making any difference. We all knew we would lose 1-2. Our best chance is getting hot in Greensboro and winning 2.

Also, this is the same team that some debated might be the worst in CBB history in the preseason, it wouldn't surprise me if they won every game up until the Final Four. Anything after finally winning in Chapel hill is gravy to me.

You are tone deaf to the current basketball landscape. The ACC is dead last amongst P5 conferences in NET and RPI and lower than the AAC in at least one.

4 wins in the top 10 means nothing? I honestly think the ACC ate each other alive.
Either way, the NIT would be a successful season for this team.

Honestly, no. Both NET and RPI simply create a ratio of your win/loss record and your opponents win/loss record. It doesn’t really matter who you beat. It’s also weighted home/away so you really need to win at home and steal a few on the road. Quadrant wins really only come into play for teams on the bubble and we’re nowhere near it now. That’s why non-conference play is so essential and the ACC sucked an egg this year. Plus, Duke and Louisville are on a path to end the season outside the top 10. The ACC may only get 3 bids. 4 a maybe. 5 isn’t happening.

NC State really needed tonight
They have given that Duke win right back with losses to FSU And UNC
2 wins over Top 20 teams (sounds familiar??)
But a 17-11 overall record and a dropping NET is going to kill them. Can't lose to teams out of the Top 100 in late Feb. when you are in a fight for the last spots.
The ACC is 4 teams now barring something very unusual
FSU 2 Duke is a 2 or 3 Louisville is 4 Virginia will be a 8/9
Notre Dame could easily get to 20-11 and with 2 wins in the ACCT and would be 22-12 overall but hat might not be enough. 21-13 is NIT bound, 22-12 is sweating at 6pm on Sunday, 23-12 and they might go to Dayton.

You really have no idea how the NCAA tournament is selected.
No 19-15 or 18-16 has EVER been selected as at large team EVER. 18-16 will probably not get you an NIT bid.
I read this stuff and wonder if people actually believe it or just live in fantasy world.
20-14 would have been a VERY VERY long shot to make the dance based on the overall record.
You are putting WAAAAAAAAAY too much emphasis on 2 wins over Duke and Louisville. That is 2 games out of 31 played and they all count the same. It is 6% of the resume. Plus every bubble team in the country has 2 or 3 or 4 Q1 wins this season. Duke and Louisville = great wins. It was already certain but tonight's loss cements Clemson's only path to the dance is winning the ACCT or going to the ticket box.

Indiana was like the first team or 2nd team out at 17-15 and losing conf record. The NCAA has made a left turn away from any pre-conceived notion about # of wins. It matters who you beat.

We are closer to missing the NIT than making the NCAA.
