After talking with my neighbor a bit recently ... he fancies himself a Christian

Do you all believe in the Old Testament, the New Testament or both?

Usually they just follow whichever testament has the verses that fit the desired result they want. The two texts are often contradictory.

For example:

Stripping away rights of gay/transgender people really goes against Jesus' New Testament teachings, so gotta pull verses from the Ancient Hebrew to be able to justify that.

You and Felix seem to chime in on all things you seem to know very little about.

Religion and faith is about a lot more than homos and baby killing.... even though that seems to be your go to for all things religions.

I would say I believe in both, but read each differently.

Old Testament is parable, imagery, and symbolism by in large.
NT is more literal
