Questions for some of those with more knowledge about scholarships

Jun 8, 2019, 8:28 PM

, the transfer portal and who pays the athletes tuition to the school while they sit out a year. Once they enter the portal can their scholarships be taken away by their current school? Also, how many years can you keep a player on scholarship? Is this transfer portal going to change the way scholarships are written and what new rules do you see being implemented in athletic scholarships?

I will hang up and listen. Thank you Tigernet members for sharing you knowledge.

You must enter college within a year of graduating High School. Then you have 5 years to play 4.
So basically you have 6 years.
If you are serving in the military, this time is frozen.
As far as scholarships: Schools honor the remainider of the semester in which the athlete declares intention to transfer.
The school receiving the athlete begins counting the scholarship as 1 of the allotted 85 immediately upon enrollment ( even if athlete has to sit a year).

4 yr scholarship = 1 year guaranteed, 1 year at a time is all that is garanteed or 4-1 year contracts(RSyearifneeded); players not in the 2Deep are routinely discarded at a number programs across the US-
