Question about last nights game (3 calls)

Aug 31, 2012, 2:28 PM

We were at the Esso Club watching the coots and dores, and couldn't hear the commentary.

There were multiple biased calls for the ranked team, but three in particular were game-changers.

1) Was Shaw's knee down when he fumbled the snap late in the first half, before he scrambled inside the five?

2) The spot on the tip-toe-down-the-sideline scramble by Rogers late in the second half was either a first down or he stepped barely out 2 yards short, but it was spotted less than a foot from being a first.

3) The interference no-call was just a blatant blown call.

What did y'all think?
Did the announcers call the officials out on those three?

to me it looked like he didnt have control of the ball when he was on his knee. then on scramble by rodgers i thought it was a first down cause he didnt step out . then the pass interference well that was really bad . go tigers

What I think is that it doesn't matter if they were called,or not called.
And even if the announcers did call out the officals nothing was done about it.
It's a moot point The coots won ,so move on!

1) his knee hit the ground but it was off the ground when he gained control

2) didn't give us a good angle, but I think he probably did step out a couple yards before the marker

3) I didn't see the pass interference live, but it was obvious upon replay... and the official was looking right at it, so there's no excuse for the no call

i guess i didn't really answer your question...

Aug 31, 2012, 2:44 PM

1) they agreed this was the right call

2) they questioned the officials' spot, but didn't call them out, per se

3) "that is textbook pass interference" is what they said about that one

the announcers did discuss all these calls. They agreed with 1 and said 3 was a "text book pass interference" As for 2, they first thought runner stepped out several yards short but never commented on fact that he later went out of bounds after the marker. I agree with you that the actual spot made no sense but it didn't matter when they converted on 4th.
