Putting it here- 80% of college players smoke weed. To

think otherwise is laughable. I've said for years that if schools gabe legitimate drug tests that college football would look like the 1950s again. It is what it is.

We see it in the NFL all the time. Kid that was never in trouble in college all of a sudden gets suspended once they get to NFL. You think they just starting smoking dope once out of college? Hell no, they've been doing it since high school.

How many pots is too many pots?

Dec 30, 2015, 8:27 AM

These are the kinds of things we should be teaching in schools. If kids don't understand where the line is they could do some serious damage.

You really have to be careful because drug dealers like to give away more expensive drugs for free by lacing the pots with cocaine and not telling you about it.

This statement is just dumb. Yes 80% of college football players would smoke weed if it wasn't against the rules, but to say that 80% still do is crazy. A lot of these players see this as a way to get to future opportunities. If you are willing to put in the work it takes to make it to the NFL you are willing to stay away from bad influences. I am sure plenty of players do partake but 4 out of every 5 is not a fair representation.

stricter environment than most. It was that high(no pun) at my high school and area schools as well. Pot is just like beer to many and they would rather smoke than drink.

I think otherwise. You are off by about 29 percent at best.

I think that it should be legal if alcohol is legal, though.

No, I do not smoke weed or drink.

You see it all of the time in the NFL because the coaches there are not as interested in the player as a person as coaches are in college. Money also is always in their pocket, and they don't have to worry about "making it" because they already have.

What's your point?

Dec 30, 2015, 8:26 AM

Is this your educated guess at the percentage of pot smokers playing football? Do you have some sort of first hand knowledge of pot use in collegiate athletics?

Seriously, why does it matter and what is your point? There are rules. Right is right and wrong is wrong and the choice to do wrong has consequences. No need to make the excuse that everyone else is doing it.

to me. Specifically regarding Clemson, knowing what is at stake, knowing there are drug tests, to smoke it up is a shocking decision. I don't care if it 80% or 1% doing it. Wait until the offseason then.
