Forum Rules

Oct 8, 2012, 7:13 AM

A few years ago, I made a post questioning whether a certain player's skills had been accurately assessed. I didn't criticize him but I did call him by name. I received notice from the board administrator that players could NOT be called out and criticized (even tho' I felt I was questioning the coaches' analysis of the player rather than the player himself) and that I would be banned if I did it again. Now I see players criticized here all the time. This weekend, a certain defensive player has been a favorite target. Have the rules changed? I don't want to risk another faux pas.

Probably not a rule breaker. May be in poor taste.***

^^^^^^ I agree. I don't like seeing specific players called

I can't speak for others nor do I negatively criticize

others, but I just don't like singling out any player for criticism as I believe it's an unfair advantage, especially given the anonymity. I see nothing wrong discussing the team's overall performance, however, individual criticism IMO should be the coaches' domain. Thus, my thinking: if a poster is comfortable with such, then try an e-mail to a coach...and be willing to "sign" it.

if you talk position or unit it is one thing but singling out a guy by name just because he isnt doing what you feel he should is crass and bush league. period.

I have called several down for this over the weekend. and we won over a team we usually dont. Ok to question and comment generally. Named call outs are wrong

Gotcha! And, again, I didn't criticize the player.

But what's with all these people calling out players after every game and criticizing them roundly. I DIDN'T criticize and I was threatened with banishment but apparently the administrator thinks it's okay to do it now. LOL! I'm still young enough to think life is fair...
