Premature DT Topic: Anyone been to Fripp recently

Mar 25, 2014, 9:25 AM

I was there several years ago and had dinner at a place called Bonito Boathouse. It was actually pretty darn good.

Any other good dining recommendations on or near Fripp would be appreciated?

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I make several trips a year and have a couple of suggestions

Make the short drive back to Beaufort and eat at Saltus River Grill. It's on the water front park and delicious. Johnson creek tavern can be great but I've been disappointed also. Strange but worth a shot and closer to Fripp (between Hunting and Harbor Island just past the state park coming from Fripp). Enjoy!

Breakwater is another good dining option in downtown Beaufort. There are like 8 or 9 dining options in the downtown area and you really can't go wrong with any of them. If you want to stay closer to Fripp, try Foolish Frop or Bella Luna on St. Helena Island.

FOOLISH FROG

My vote is for The Foolish Frog. Go there from about May to September on a Friday or Saturday evening and you may get to hear live music with Beek Webb or Vic Varner and friends. The food is great!
