Per Bleacher Report Brent V is ranked # 4 behind Kevin Steele in salary.

Clemson should try to step up and make BV the highest paid Asst Coach especially ahead of Steele ranked #3. IMO BV earns every dime he is paid at $1.35 million while Steele makes $1.4 million at Auburn. Ranked # 1 is Texas A&M Asst Coach John Chavis at $1.55 million.
For what BV has accomplished as Clemson's DC he deserves to be ranked #1.
What do you guys think?

I think the folks paying Steele all that money are crazy. Really. Steele has been mediocre for a long time.
We should pay Venables whatever he wants to remain our DC. He's priceless.

Auburn had to offer him more money than what LSU was paying him as an incentive to come there, because LSU is certainly the better job especially for a DC with the talent they bring in on that side of the ball.

He will not leave to go anywhere else as an assistant. He will leave to take a head coaching job which assistant pay will not compete with. Why pay more than we have to while he is an assistant?

Bless their hearts but both are the two most OVERRATED coaches in CFB. They prove you can suck and still get overpaid to do it. I hope we hang 70 on Auburn.

dollars is enough money to spend on an assistant coach. I was not even aware that Brent was unhappy with his salary. How much money will it take to keep him? Since money doesn't seen to matter why not give him 2 million a year and be done with it?
